No filter

Do you ever just blurb out a thought only to regret it immediately right after? Recently, I've found that my thought filters are not working well. On several occasions, I catch myself right after saying it. It feels rather foolish when it is in front of your boss. Once I get comfortable with a person, I feel like I can say whatever comes to mind, but this shouldn't apply to my boss. In any case, now she knows the 'dark side' of me and there is nothing I can do about it.

Lonely?

Coyote Starrk - Bleach character that has a very intriguing past. He feared loneliness so much, he decided to split himself into two... now that's a concept. If I attempted that I'd either be 1) dead but in two pieces or 2) have a personality disorder and then get locked up in an institute... *sigh*

It's a gorgeous day out today but it's raining on the inside for me... I think I caught Marvin's depression.

I am currently reading the Hitchhiker's guide to the galaxy and really loving it. Maybe I should post some of my fave excerpts :) Ahh... Marvin~ lols~

Typical Monday

A day that Al's away is always a bad day... bad news first thing in the morning plus a sticky situation with some order... fabulous! I need another drink~

But on a brighter note... We finished playing both Deus Ex: Human Revolution and Hitman: Blood Money and then found a new game to be addicted to... Dungeon Defenders~ :) Gotta build towers and level up!!

Need new object of obsession...

Have you ever been obsessed about something and then suddenly one day you lose all interest? I've had my iPod touch since last November and until recently have been something I can spend hours with... now... I only use it to play music at work and to play Angry Birds when they have their updates (which is getting less frequent now...) *sigh* I think I need something new to play with... Makeup is definitely not an option all the time... so any suggestions? I've joined DeviantArt and Makeuptalk... but still.. they don't hold my interest for quite that long... meh~~ okies... enuf... Lemme just share this cute picture with you and end this post for now, enjoy!

Little surprise...

My friend returned from his 5 weeks long trip in India and bought back souvenirs... Mine was this wonderful mini Taj Mahal inside a snow globe. It's perfect :)

I have not owned a snow globed in over 18 years. The last one I had was a mini purple snow globe with a doll in the middle (which I had promptly broken after a show and tell in grade 2...)

I find them amusing and so mystical... Thanks Nak Nak :)

TekSavvy is awesome!!

I love my internet provider. So far we've had it for 21 days and 'touch wood' it has been trouble-free! The downloading speed is awesome, no more lagging YT vids! So happy! Last night I was downloading movies faster than I can watch them :) The customer service is always awesome, you will always get someone to talk to and they have all been helpful and nice in helping you solve your problems and patiently answer your questions :) They have such pleasant people working there 24/7... So happy with them that I wish I had left Bell sooner!

^_^ just happy customer in general and wanted to share! :D

Bake for Japan

It was raining early afternoon, thank goodness it warmed up later on!

This past weekend I was invited to take part in the Bake for Japan event that was held at the Amaranto Cafe on 809 St. Clair in Toronto. Several other locations across GTA was also part of the event. Together, generous Torontonians donated over $20,000 this weekend. All proceeds went directly to the Japanese Red Cross Society.

I was surprised at the amount of goodies (such as cupcakes, cookies, full sized cakes, t-shirts, buttons and many more) that were donated by bakeries (ie, the Guy who Bakes and the owners of Amaranto Cafe) and other volunteers. Another surprise was the amount of people who came out to make a donation on such a rainy day. I was truly amazed to see the power of kindness at work. It had been a great way to end the week =)

Ooh... very random, but we grabbed pizza at the 241 Pizza place just around the corner and it was sooooo yummy! The owners there were also very nice. This seemed to be a very nice neighborhood, filled with kind and giving people =)

 



My night :)

By making time for myself yesterday I realized I could accomplish a lot of things I keep puttting off....

I managed to take a nap, play some angry bird, clean out some more garbage from my drawers, watch two movies (My Left Eye Sees Ghost '我左眼見到鬼' and How to lose a guy in 10 days) such awesome movies I keep re-watching :) , remove my leftover nail polish from my hand and my toe nails, repaint my toes, almost finish making stars for my brush holder and finally I had a snack with my grandparents around 11 last night ^_^

Feeling accomplished... haha...

Voilà! my eyeshadow brush holder :)

Making the straw stars really hurt my fingers, but it is all worth it cuz it look soooooo pretty ^_^

No more indulging for the next 4 weeks!

I'm broke broke... so no more shopping for unnecessary things the next 4 weeks...

I got too much in the past weekend.. and then today something I've been looking forward to since months ago was finally available... bringing me down another 75$... so yeah... no more for the next little while...

On the other hand, I'm an ubber happy shopper :) will have to take pics of the goodies I got :)

happy gift, not so happy delivery service

Next time I buy a gift I have to seriously consider which courier to use...

DHL is horrible...

First off.. it charged over 17$ for duty + S&H for an item that is less than 30$... Second, the people there can't seem to give you a straight answer as to whether a second delivery will be made... how hard is it for them to look into their system to verify that?

I called Friday and was told that it was the final attempt and that I'd have to pick up the package at the DHL pick up centre in Brampton... On Monday morning I wanted to double check the address and I found out that the package will be out for delivery today and that if I missed this one then I can pick up my package the next day... Or I can put a cheque with that amount in my front door... How on earth am I suppose to do that? I have a 8 to 430 job and my home isn't exactly close... I also asked the girl if I can have the package redirected to my workplace and I was told that the info could be recorded but that the package is already on the truck.... So... she can't confirm if a 3rd delivery can be made and on top of that I won't be able to get the package until after Christmas...

DHL is a mistake I will never make again. I will never use its service again... Would also not recommend it... Unless you want to double your cost and increase your stress level...
