Nova and Ion~

Came home from work last night and found the furballs cuddling together... they were sooo cute I couldn't help taking the SLR out for some quick snaps!

Ion is fearless when she thinks food is involved... She will pose for you and get out of the cage to make a mess! Here's the poopster looking innocent after eating all the food!

I took a few nice pictures of her, but this is one of the few that didn't have that many poops... :) She is our poopy one...

et voici, Nova! He is the super active one, spideychin... it is soooo hard to take a picture of him when he is out the cage because he will just run around and jump high and low to check his surroundings... The only time he is not moving (when out of the cage) is when he is in our hands.... and then he is super calm~ Here's some pictures, the first one he is on eM and the second on me :) doesn't he just look soooo much like a baby? :) 2.5 months!

Parents!

I thought I could handle any chinchilla, so on my quest to look for the one... we stumble upon the perfect chinny on kijiji.ca last week. I feel in love with him! He's a white mosaic with some grey on his head and tail... born in November 2009, he is just 2 months old, weaned, ready to be picked up... and he will be mine. I messaged the guy and Nova was put on hold until the weekend. I could hardly wait. His name was already set. I've done all my research and got him a cage... Everything else would have to wait since I need to know exactly what diet he was on and how his life was prior to the big move. A day before, I thought maybe we will get 2 chinnies... On our way there, I kept thinking that it may be a good move, get another chinny in case Nova was skittish or would like company. We did not want to breed chinnies so maybe we will take one of his brothers. I told eM, the first chinny that comes to us, we will get him too! When we got there right away one of the standard greys came up to us... Ion came right into my hands and was thrilled to be out of the cage. Em tried and he also was thrilled with the contact. We had to take him too. They were precious the moment they were in our hands, within moments Nova warmed up to us too. It's been almost a week since we've had them. I think we did the right choice to get the two chinnies. =) Meet Ion (da Grey) and Nova (ze white) :D

Randomness~

Losing one day at a time... so far 9209 days wasted...

Sorry to be starting 2010 with such a gloomy blog, but it is not looking so good...

Waiting impatiently for the remaining 359 days to be over.
